Legacy of Kain: Defiance

Legacy of Kain: Defiance picks up where Soul Reaver 2 concluded. Kain pulled the Soul Reaver from Raziel just before Raziel was destined to be absorbed into the blade — an act that created a paradox and altered the flow of time, separating the two. Kain seeks out Moebius the Time Streamer for answers on Raziel's whereabouts and the changes to history, eventually following a lead to an ancient Vampire citadel. There he discovers murals depicting a war between the first races of Nosgoth — the Ancient Vampires and the Hylden — and learns that both races were prophesied to produce a champion: a Vampire wielding the Soul Reaver, and a Hylden wielding a flaming sword. Possessing the material Soul Reaver, Kain begins to believe he may be the prophesied Vampire champion. Whether that belief will prove correct remains to be seen.
