The Wolf Among Us takes place in 1986, nearly two decades before the events of the Fables comics. For years, the fabled realms of myth, legend, and folklore — known as the Homelands — have languished under a shadowy tyrant called the Adversary. Fleeing his iron-fisted rule, countless Homelands residents escaped to colonial America and founded a hidden enclave called Fabletown, now tucked away in modern-day Manhattan. To keep their existence secret from ordinary humans, every non-human fable must either buy an enchantment called a "glamour" to pass as human or be shipped off to a rural community known as "the Farm." Building on Telltale's signature choice-and-consequence storytelling, the game makes one thing brutally clear: even for Bigby Wolf, the Sheriff of Fabletown, life in the big bad city is bloody, terrifying, and dangerous.
