About This Game

In early Edo-period Japan, Kayo runs a tea house with her father when the Princess of Sunpu Castellan appears with an unusual request: they are identical in appearance, and the Princess needs Kayo to take her place in a formal marriage procession to Edo. Kayo accepts, setting out with six samurai bodyguards along the Tokaido road. Along the way she becomes entangled in encounters with youkai and with the Sword Retrieving Imperial Match—a contest over five legendary blades that turns out to be a cover for a much darker ritual. The road eventually divides: live by the sword in a world of war, or set it down and choose peace.
