Rance IX: The Helmanian Revolution

Helman is the oldest human nation on the Continent, but under Empress Sheila—who holds the title in name only while Prime Minister Stessel Romanov holds actual power—it has been gutted by corruption and starvation. Prince Patton was presumed dead, but a Revolutionary Army forming in his name has been growing for years. Patton needs Rance—a powerful, self-interested adventurer who agrees to join the revolution in exchange for access to a specific item in the royal treasury, and considerable freedom to pursue his own goals along the way.
