Super Mario Galaxy

Every hundred years, a massive comet passes over the Mushroom Kingdom. On one particularly special pass, the comet filled the entire sky and showered the land with falling stars. Toads gathered the Star Bits and brought them to the castle, where they were transformed into a great Power Star — a joyful occasion celebrated with a kingdom-wide Star Festival. Then one night, Mario received a letter from Peach inviting him to the castle. With the invitation in hand, he set off through the festivities, surrounded by Toads laughing and catching Star Bits as they fell. Then something happened that nobody expected.
