Stardust falls on the Mushroom Kingdom once every hundred years, and the time has come again. Peach sends Mario a note inviting him to watch the shooting stars from the castle. On the way there, Mario spots a small, lost Luma glowing in the grass and tucks it safely under his cap. When he arrives at the castle, something unexpected is already waiting — and the next galactic adventure is about to begin.
