Darkest Dungeon

An inheritance of dark consequence befalls the player upon claiming a crumbling gothic manor, only to discover that the previous owner's reckless excavations have awakened monstrous horrors in the depths below. Tasked with restoring the estate to its former state, the player must gather a band of mercenaries and delve into increasingly sinister dungeons to confront the corruption festering beneath the grounds. Through exploration, fragments of the Ancestor's journals emerge, painting a portrait of obsessive ambition and unspeakable transgressions committed in the name of forbidden knowledge. As expeditions push deeper into the underground labyrinth, hints surface of an even greater threat—a primordial force of devastation slumbering at the very nadir of this nightmare realm, awaiting awakening.
