Praga sits on the border between three nations—Adler and two rival powers—each militarily, economically, and religiously distinct. The ceasefire is official; the tension underneath it is anything but. Adler's Virgo corps leader Gilbert Harves assembles an experimental platoon of Esperanto, individuals capable of wielding Astral energy, and places Ashley Horizon among them. Ashley was once saved by the hero Christopher Valzelide. Now she carries that debt forward into a situation far more complicated than the one that nearly killed her the first time.
