Three lives are entangled in London's working-poor tenements: a Conscientious Nurse bound by her sense of duty, a Besotted Poet too in love to think clearly, and a Garrulous Devil with interests of his own. A knot of love and obligation pulls them all together and sets them against each other. A Fallen London story where the warning comes first: there is no peaceful resolution waiting between devils, honey, and the heart. Someone will pay for what happens here.
