It is 2012 in the Mushroom Kingdom, and an ancient key capable of granting world domination has surfaced just as the end of the world has been predicted. Bowser wants it. Mario already knows where it is. Bowser, knowing Mario will beat him there alone, recruits additional villains to close the gap. A fan game built on the Super Mario Bros. engine, set against a ticking countdown.
