Silent Footsteps

Rebecca Carlson's childhood friend has died in what was ruled an accident. Rebecca was named in the will—and left the keys to the friend's apartment and a short handwritten note: "Follow in my footsteps." She has gone to her old hometown with nothing else to go on. What her friend was hiding, why she chose this particular way to communicate it, and why she felt the need to hide it at all are questions that only deepen the further Rebecca follows the trail.
