A series of coordinated attacks by criminal, extremist, and radical factions has swept the globe simultaneously, each group seizing territory and establishing de facto governments overnight—taking entire civilian populations hostage. These occupied zones are now called Shadow Nations. In response, an emergency international coalition has launched the ShadowBreak initiative: a force of disavowed military specialists from around the world trained in unorthodox warfare.
