Katagiri Kaede lost her parents early and her grandmother at sixteen, but she has channeled that resilience into a fierce ambition: becoming a ninja. Training at a local ninjutsu dojo, she catches the attention of the head of the Sanada Secondary Training Campus — an institution founded by the legendary Sanada Yukimura after his historic defeat of Tokugawa Ieyasu — and accepts an invitation to sit the entrance exam after a short probationary period.
