Master Magistrate

Shimei arrives as the newly appointed administrator of the Nakamachi magistrate's office, accompanied by his reliable childhood friend Rimu and the sharp-tongued Sakura, dispatched from the Kitamachi office to keep him in check. Almost immediately, a young woman named Koume is brought before the court on a murder charge with sentencing scheduled for the following day — a guilty verdict means death. Shimei finds inconsistencies in the account that no one else seems to notice. Convinced of her innocence and with hours to spare, he must uncover the real culprit before the court renders a judgment that cannot be undone.
