Three months have passed since the incident that ended Mirabelle and Celia's friendship. Mirabelle has started over in a coastal city, far from everything that happened. Then a letter arrives from their mutual friend Martin, gently noting that Celia has not had a good summer — and wondering if Mirabelle might consider reaching out. A renewed friendship might be possible. But some secrets cannot be told truthfully, even to the people who matter most.
