Sonic the Hedgehog is napping on the shore of Northern Island when a floating letter lands on him. It is from Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik, announcing the existence of a weapon capable of burning down the entire planet — and offering a deal: deliver all seven Chaos Emeralds directly to Robotnik within three days, or he launches it. It is obviously a trap. It is also the beginning of a new adventure.
