About This Game
Set five years after The King of Fighters XI, this is the final chapter of the story arc that began in KOF 2003. Ash Crimson has already absorbed the powers of two of the three clan descendants who sealed Orochi away 1,800 years ago — Chizuru Kagura and Iori Yagami — and is hunting Kyo Kusanagi for the third. His former partner Elisabeth Blanctorche is moving to stop him. A new King of Fighters tournament is announced, sponsored by a mysterious woman named Rose who is being controlled by "Those From the Past" — the organization that has been behind everything, trying to break Orochi's seal with Ash as their instrument. When the winning team reaches the final, the organization's true leader Saiki prepares to use the energy spent in the tournament to cross time — not knowing that Ash has been playing his own game the entire time.
