Seiji stumbles upon a mysterious girl named Maja Krienke at a neighborhood park and tries to introduce himself — just as a Majin appears and reveals Maja to be a ruthless magical warrior who has made a deal with forces of darkness in exchange for forbidden powers. To stay alive, Seiji agrees to serve as her familiar, receiving his own impressive abilities in return. The catch: he is now physically tethered to Maja around the clock by a magical rope that is keeping his new satellite body stable in the mortal world. Forced to move in with her immediately, he begins to discover the particular quirks and blindspots of his new housemate — and wonders if the summer arrangement might become something else.
