An urban legend called Kudan is said to appear as a woman in mourning clothes, her face veiled, her right hand severed at the wrist. Those who see her suffer misfortune within seven days. Student Sakuya Kudan and culinary teacher Touko Shima have been drawn toward each other by coincidence — and then Touko sees Kudan. The countdown starts. Sakuya races to find a way to break the curse before it claims the person she has come to care about, drawing her into the academy's Occult Research Club and the unknown beyond it.
