080 is the pride of Lilith Hall. She does exactly as she's told, she get's perfect grades, and she's never lost a single battle. All her life she was taught the only thing that matters is her future Ringmaster; but when an outsider is brought in, she gets a taste of what the outside world looks like. She must choose between a temptation she's never known, or the life she's always wanted.

In Chanelcrest, humans are treated as lesser beings than reavers — they lack the strength, wealth, and abilities that grant social standing. Most survive by entering servitude. The most common form of entertainment is arena combat, with human fighters called Harlequins controlled by reaver Ringmasters. Lilith Hall is a training facility where girls are raised from birth with no names and no purpose other than to become a Harlequin for whichever Ringmaster eventually claims them.
