A patient checks into the Pierce Institute to try SomnaSculpt, an experimental dream-therapy technology, and is put to sleep inside a testing environment built within their own dreamworld — a place where reality bends and objects can be reshaped through perspective. When they fail to wake at the appointed time, they find themselves slipping ever deeper through successive layers of dream. Guided over crackling radios by the institute's Dr. Glenn Pierce and prompted by the therapy's automated system, the dreamer must navigate an increasingly surreal and unstable mindscape, searching for their own way back to waking life.
