In the mid-1980s, development began on a fully realized virtual-reality arcade system using twin head-mounted vector monitors — the kind used in Battlezone, Tempest, and Star Wars. Funding ran out before completion, and the first game built for the system, VekWars, vanished into rumor. The system itself is fictional framing for the actual game: the year is 2385, humanity is at war with the Xilorian Empire, and Vektrox Ore is the key resource both sides are fighting over. Human mining colonies are under constant attack. A retro vector-aesthetic space shooter.
