About This Game

Mario receives an invitation from Princess Toadstool: she has baked a cake and is waiting at Mushroom Castle. He rushes over, but the castle is silent and the doors are answered by a familiar, mocking laugh. Inside, most rooms are locked—but one door is open, revealing a giant painting with strange sounds emanating from within. Mario jumps through it and enters another world entirely. Bob-omb Buddies tell him what happened: Bowser has stolen the Power Stars that protect the castle, using them to convert each painting-world into monster-filled territory and trap Princess Toadstool inside. Unless Mario recovers the Power Stars hidden across each world, Bowser's forces will overflow the paintings and take everything.
