For as long as she can remember, Death has taken lives without rest — the innocent and corrupt alike, endlessly. The toll of it left her lonely and broken. She fell in love with a mortal man. Against her sisters' wishes, she granted him immortality — creating the first Reaper. His newfound power corrupted him and he left her. Heartbroken, Death withdrew from the world entirely, abandoning her task. Her sisters captured her and grafted a sentient exoskeleton to her body that enslaved her and forced her back to work. Now cold and empty where she once felt something, Death uses all her remaining power to build a vast army of Reapers — stripped of their memories and sealed in mortal forms so none can ever leave her. A gothic action game built on a mythology of grief and the things it makes of us.
