Ilyon is a magic weaver, cynical by temperament, who volunteered for a ritual whose details were not fully disclosed. He wakes inside his own soul labyrinth—a manifestation of his psyche made traversable, with every difficult part of himself waiting somewhere in it. His teacher prepared a stranger to accompany him as a vassal. Using power, empathy, and logic together, Ilyon has to confront what he has never wanted to look at directly if he wants to find the way out.
