Operation Market Garden's failure in September 1944 dashed Allied hopes for an early end to the war in Europe. What followed was a supply crisis: the lightning advance from Normandy had outrun the logistics chain, and without the deep-water port at Antwerp — captured intact but still inaccessible while Germany held the Scheldt Estuary — the entire Allied advance risked grinding to a halt. The miserable task of clearing that estuary fell to the men of 1st Canadian Army. Scheldt '44 covers the full campaign: the Battle of the Scheldt, the Maas Salient, the Channel Ports, and a new Operation Market Garden scenario. A hex-and-counter wargame about one of the war's most grueling and least-celebrated campaigns.
