When a decades-long conflict finally winds down, Victor and his wife Anna prepare to celebrate the ceasefire with friends, their optimism about peace seemingly justified at last. Their reunion is cut devastatingly short when an inexplicable energy weapon obliterates the city in an instant, leaving buildings and nature mysteriously untouched while the vast majority of the population simply vanishes without explanation. Stripped of government, infrastructure, and nearly all other survivors, Victor and Anna find themselves in a lawless wasteland alongside only a handful of remaining people—most of whom have descended into savagery. As resources dwindle and each day demands new sacrifices to stay alive, Victor must navigate this brutal new reality alongside Anna and an enigmatic figure whose true intentions remain unclear, all while searching for answers about what happened and whether anyone else survived beyond their isolated corner of the devastated world.
