Zee.End

During the arms race, the government of a small nation with limited resources chooses an unconventional path and quietly contracts a secret corporation called ZEE — the Zero Experimental Establishment — to develop biological weapons of mass destruction. The work is conducted on Montib Island, a remote location cut off from the rest of the country, with a small local population and no modern infrastructure. The experiments go well by the project's own metrics. Then a helicopter carrying weapons samples crashes on the island. A week later, after initial infection reports from the observation teams, all communication from ZEE and from anyone on Montib Island stops completely. The government quarantines the island without public acknowledgment. ZEE is directed to investigate under military escort. Despite the quarantine and the unknown state of the viral outbreak, people keep trying to reach Montib: to find missing relatives, to help the residents, to claim abandoned property, or simply because the island has become a place where the rules no longer apply. Why the player is going there is a choice left to the player.
