The tragedy at Hanako-Land is in the past and both Kemono-High and Hachiko-High have returned to their normal routines. Something remains unresolved, however. When a gentle puppy and a delinquent shepherd cross paths, the mysteries that have been hovering over Kemono-Town find their way to the surface — and the greatest crisis the town has seen in a long time arrives with them. Whether the last laugh belongs to the dog, the cat, or the demon is the question the story builds toward.
