Alette 0: Red Moon of April

Eighteen years after the Great War between China and the United States — a conflict China won, and which was fought partly through pilot-operated bipedal war machines called Metal Knights — the world is divided into five major power blocs: United Europe, the New Russian Republic, the Japan Federation, the Atlantic Community, and Great China. The Shanghai Pact that ended the war banned further Metal Knight production and use. Peace held until Great China broke the pact and attacked the Japan Federation to reclaim territories lost before the war. It is now 2037, one month into that campaign. You are Kohime Togashi, born in Japan but raised on the former Middle Eastern border between United Europe and Great China — where the original war was fought eighteen years ago, and where you saw what those machines could do.
