DuskBreakers

The Dusk is a derelict spaceship that Breakers — elite operators organized as Blasters, Rippers, and Junkers — have been working inside every day for years. The Duskborne technology they recover is what keeps the world from returning to the conditions of the Solar Event. The International Kinshasa Lift Space Elevator is the connection between Earth and the Dusk, and it is the most vital piece of infrastructure on the planet. Breakers are not recruited; the Dusk chooses them individually through a ritual called the Contract, conducted using a Duskite Orb. Some Breakers receive augmentations from the Dusk directly. The world depends on their continued work.
